About the Safety Management Research Centre

The Safety Management Research Centre(CMRC) at China University of Mining & Technology-Beijing (CUMTB) , founded in 2006 and got its current name in 2012. The Centre has been receiving quite a strong support from the safety program at CUMTB.

In 1986, the safety program at CUMTB established her PhD program, the first of its kind in China. Since becoming the first state-level key program in 2001, the program has been taking a lead position in China. In 2005, the program became one of the core member for the State Key Lab and the State Engineering Centre founded in 2005. In 2006, the program was admitted into the State Innovation Platform “985 Project”, an outstanding university construction project launched by the Chinese Ministry of Education.

Now CMRC is committed to the scientific research and consulting activities on behavior-based safety. Most of the scientists at CMRC holds PhD and master degrees, they have strong education backgrounds from domestic or overseas universities, such as Tsinghua University, China University of Mining and Technology, China University of Geosciences, West Virginia University, Virginia Tech, Michigan Technological University, Monash University, University of New South Wales and Curtin University of Technology. Some of them have senior positions in the State Experts Group on Work Safety, China Occupational Safety and Health Association, Chinese National Education Steering Committee on Safety Engineering. Some of them are Certified Safety Engineers or Certified Senior Risk Managers.
 

CMRC is proud of its industrial experiences for safety. It has already successfully implemented more than fifty research and consulting projects, including projects funded by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Australia-China Special Fund for S&T Cooperation and by famous companies in China. CMRC extensively collaborates with big group companies in China, such as Shanxi Coking Coal Group, Henan Coal and Chemical Industry Co, Yankuang Group, Zaozhuang Coal Mining Group, Zibo Coal Mining Group in Shandong and Shuangyashan Coal Group in Heilongjiang Province.
 

Funded by “211 Project”, “985 Project” in China, and by the Large Grant Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Centre developed series of Internet-based safety training products, providing an effective support for the improvement of safety performance in industries.
